Red flag with five stars

The red color of the flag symbolizes revolution and the yellow color of the stars the golden brilliant rays radiating from the vast red land. The design of four smaller stars surrounding a bigger one signifies the unity of the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

National emblem

Composed of patterns of the national flag, the Tian'anmen Rostrum, a wheel gear and ears of wheat, it symbolizes the New-Democratic Revolution of the Chinese people since the May 4th Movement (1919) and the birth of New China under the people's democratic dictatorship led by the working class on the basis of the worker-peasant alliance.

Politics:

The National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China is the highest organ of state power. The Standing Committee of the NPC is the permanent organ of the NPC. The term of office of the NPC and its Standing Committee is five years. The NPC and its Standing Committee are empowered with the rights of legislation, decision, supervision, election and removal.

National Day:Chinese celebrate October 1st as National Day in honor of the founding of the People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949.

Topography:With highlands in the west and plains in the east, China has a varied topography. The lie of the land may be divided into three tiers. Mountainous land and very rough terrains make up 2/3 of Chinese territory, basins and Plains take the rest.

Climate: Most of China has a continental monsoon climate. Hot weather and plenty rain in summer; while Cold and little rain in winter.

Language: The Han people have their own spoken and written languages, namely Chinese. It is the most commonly used language in China, and one of the most commonly used languages in the world.
