On 14 August, President of the Republic of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov has sent condolences to President of People's Republic of China Xi Jinping over deadly blasts in Tianjin Port on the night of 12 August, expressing condolences and deep sympathy .

President Ivanov said, it is with deep sorrow that he received the news about the explosion in the city Tianjin and he deeply regrets the loss of lives in this tragic event. He also said, " in these sad moments for you and for the citizens of your country, let me extend deepest condolences on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia and on my personal behalf."
