Macedonian delegation led by Minister of Transport and Communications Vlado Misajlovski pays a visit to the People's Republic of China, attending a presentation of the first EMU-train manufactured for the needs of Macedonian Railways ­Transport in company CSR Corporation Limited.

The Ministry and CSR have signed an agreement over procurement of six passenger trains for Macedonian Railways­ Transport. According to announcements, the first train will be delivered this summer, while the remaining are to be distributed one per month.

The new trains will have a total capacity of 1,200 passengers, covering 60 percent of Macedonian Railways Transport routes. The procurement is funded by EUR 25 million, secured through a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The funds were also used for the procurement of 150 freight cars and reconstruction of the existing locomotives and coaches.
