From May 23 to 29, 2026, Deputy President of the Government and Minister of Inter-Community Relations of North Macedonia Ivan Stoilković visited China and attended the 7th China-CEEC Local Leaders’ Meeting and 2026 Shandong International Friendship Cities Cooperation and Exchange Week.

During the visit, he met with Chinese State Councilor, Madam Shen Yiqin, visited Shanghai, and gave an exclusive interview to Chinese media outlets.

Ivan Stoilković stated that North Macedonia views China as an important economic partner and a friendly country with which there is significant potential for further strengthening cooperation, particularly in the fields of agriculture, infrastructure, investment, technology, tourism, education, and cultural exchange. More intensive economic engagement, stronger connections among regions, cities, and businesses, and the creation of new opportunities for foreign investment and joint projects will bring tangible benefits to the two peoples. North Macedonia is ready to play an active role in advancing cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe by building partnerships founded on mutual respect, understanding, and a long-term vision.
