On June 3, 2026, H.E. Mme. Ambassador Jiang Xiaoyan was invited to attend panel discussions of the Western Balkans Sports Diplomacy Summit. Participants of the Summit include Macedonian Olympic Committee President Daniel Dimevski, representatives of Olympic committees from the Western Balkans, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia, and diplomatic corps in North Macedonia.

Ambassador Jiang shared the legendary story of how Ping-Pong Diplomacy made “the small ball move the big ball” and thus facilitated the normalization of Sino-US relations. She noted that sports features peace, solidarity, fair competition, inclusiveness, and mutual learning. These values are universal and highly consistent with the initiatives of China’s diplomacy, including Global Civilization Initiative and the vision for an equal and orderly multipolar world. 

She discussed about sports exchanges and cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries including North Macedonia, stressing that China stands ready to share its experience in organizing sport events and personnel training, as well as jointly promote the Olympic spirit and build a community with a shared future for humanity.
