On May 9, 2026, H.E. Mme. Ambassador Jiang Xiaoyan attended the award ceremony of the "Chinese Bridge" Competition in North Macedonia. Among those present were Director of Pedagogical Service of the Ministry of Education and Science Mr. Robert Adzipetrov, Vice Rector of UKIM Prof. Sonja Topuzovska, Directors of Confucius Institute at UKIM, Prof. Vlatko Stoilkov and Prof. Liaowei, Sinologists from the Balkan region, as well as representatives of teachers, students, and parents.

    Ambassador Jiang noted that the "Chinese Bridge" competition has now become a genuine bridge for mutual learning, stronger friendship and wider cooperation between China and North Macedonia. Over the past decade and more, it has generated growing enthusiasm among the Macedonian people to learn Chinese. Last year, Chinese language courses were officially incorporated into the credit-bearing elective curriculum at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University. Students from the Confucius Institute traveled to China to participate in the "Chinese Bridge" Summer Camp, where they personally experienced the vitality of the Chinese modernization. She encouraged participants to continue improving their Chinese language skills, explore a real, multidimensional, and comprehensive China, and become people-to-people ambassadors for friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
