H.E. Mme. Ambassador Jiang Xiaoyan Met with Culture and Tourism Minister Zoran Ljutkov

On April 1, 2026, H.E. Ambassador Jiang Xiaoyan met with Minister of Culture and Tourism, Zoran Ljutkov.

Ambassador Jiang noted that in implementing the Global Civilization Initiative, China stands ready to deepen people-to-people exchanges with North Macedonia and the EU,  give full play to the China-CEEC Coordination Center for Cultural Cooperation to enhance mutual understanding and contribute to the efforts of Skopje to showcase its charm as the 2028 European Capital of Culture.

She stressed that China has adoptd the 15th Five-Year Plan and stays committed to high-standard opening up. China’s middle-income population totals over 400 million at present, which is expected to reach 800 million. China is boosting domestic consumption, committed to offering more opportunities to the world. She expressed hope that North Macedonia will adopt more measures to facilitate practical cooperation and two way people-to-people exchages.

Minister Ljutkov commended the efforts by the Embassy to enrich cultural life in the country through events such as the Chinese Spring Festival celebrations and Skopje Fashion Week. He welcomed more exchanges and cooperation in literature, film, art, tourism and other fields, and greater role for the China-CEEC Coordination Center for Cultural Cooperation.
