After going through three-quarters of a century of ups and downs, China-Russia relations have become more mature and stable. In the face of accelerating transformation unseen in a century and a volatile international landscape, China and Russia always move forward hand in hand along the right path of non-alliance, non-confrontation, and not targeting any third party. Xi Jinping said that over the past year, he and Vladimir Putin held three meetings in Beijing, Astana, and Kazan, and maintained communication through phone calls, letters and other means. They had candid exchanges and reached broad common understandings on bilateral relations and major international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern. Under their strategic guidance, the political mutual trust and strategic coordination between China and Russia have been continuously advancing toward higher levels. The China-Russia east-route natural gas pipeline has been fully completed, and practical cooperation in various fields has yielded tangible outcomes. The China-Russia Years of Culture has successfully launched, fostering a closer bond of friendship between the two peoples through generations. Both sides support each other as chairs of the BRICS mechanism and Shanghai Cooperation Organization, making significant contributions to promoting solidarity and cooperation in the Global South.

Noting that the upcoming year 2025 marks the conclusion of China's 14th Five-Year Plan period and the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, Xi Jinping said that no matter how the international landscape evolves, China remains committed to further deepening reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization, and promoting peace and development in the world. Xi Jinping expressed confidence that China-Russia cooperation in various fields will continue to get new opportunities for development. Xi Jinping said that he is ready to continue to maintain close exchanges with President Vladimir Putin, firmly steer the general direction of China-Russia cooperation, and continuously consolidate and deepen China-Russia relations featuring permanent good-neighborly friendship, comprehensive strategic coordination and mutually beneficial cooperation for a new era, so as to inject strong momentum into the development, revitalization and modernization of the two countries, and make new and important contributions to improving the well-being of the two peoples and safeguarding international fairness and justice.

President Vladimir Putin extended sincere New Year and Spring Festival greetings to President Xi Jinping and wishes the Chinese people happiness and good health. Vladimir Putin said that in the outgoing year, Russia and China jointly celebrated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The two presidents have held three meetings, leading to new achievements in the development of the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era. The mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in areas such as economy and trade, energy, transportation, and science and technology has been progressing in an orderly manner.
