Xi Jinping Sends Congratulatory Message to the General Assembly of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia

On April 25, 2023, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to the General Assembly of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia.

Xi Jinping pointed out that as an important cradle of human civilizations, Asia has nurtured and is home to an immeasurable wealth of cultural heritage, writing a splendid chapter in the annals of world civilizations. He proposed for making efforts to conserve cultural heritage in Asia at the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations in 2019. Now four years on, all parties have made active response and concerted efforts, carried out practical cooperation in the fields of research on ancient civilizations, joint archaeology, relics repair,  exchanges between museums and more, and thus Asia has made new contribution to conserving the essence of human civilizations.

Xi Jinping stressed that the establishment of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia is conducive to strengthening the conservation of Asian cultural heritage, deepening exchanges among Asian civilizations, making the garden of world civilizations more flourishing, and contributing to the progress of human civilizations. China is ready to join hands with all other Asian countries for further experience sharing on cultural heritage preservation within the framework of the alliance, actively promote international cooperation in the field of cultural heritage, and establish a network for dialogue and cooperation among the world civilizations, so as to promote mutual understanding, forge closer bonds between people of different countries, and jointly promote the progress of human civilizations.

The General Assembly of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia was co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Cultural Heritage Administration and Shaanxi Provincial Government. It was open in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province on April 25.
