On April 24, 2023, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met in Beijing with the delegation of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) led by Member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the PCC Central Committee Roberto Tomás Morales Ojeda.

Wang Yi said that China-Cuba relations are an excellent example of solidarity and cooperation between socialist countries and sincere mutual support between developing countries. We should follow the important common understandings reached between the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries to consolidate and develop China-Cuba special friendship. China supports Cuba in defending state sovereignty and national dignity, backs Cuba in safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests, and is ready to strengthen cooperation with Cuba in international affairs and uphold international fairness and justice.

Roberto Tomás Morales Ojeda said that the PCC is ready to strengthen strategic communication with the Communist Party of China, keep expanding cooperation in various fields, and promote the relations between Cuba and China and  between Latin America and China.
