On April 20, 2023, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping sent a message to First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez on his reelection as President of Cuba.

Xi Jinping pointed out that currently, China-Cuba relations are operating to a high standard with steady new progress. Recalling President Díaz-Canel’s successful state visit to China last November and the important common understandings they reached on continuously deepening the special friendly relations between the two countries in the new era, Xi Jinping noted that he attaches great importance to developing China-Cuba relations, and is ready to maintain close communication with President Díaz-Canel, and further strengthen political guidance for the relations between the two parties and two countries in joint efforts to build a China-Cuba community with a shared future.
