On December 16, 2022, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi delivered a video speech at the 17th National Coordinators' Meeting for Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC).

Reviewing the China-CEEC cooperation since its inception 10 years ago, Wang Yi stressed that China and CEEC countries are natural partners with deep historical ties, complementary development advantages, strong demand for cooperation, and common aspiration for rejuvenation. No matter how the international landscape may change, the two sides should stay focused on implementing the consensus reached at the Beijing Summit to make the cooperation more resilient, coordinated, open and beneficial to all.

Wang Yi put forward four proposals for deepening China-CEEC cooperation. First, stick to solidarity and friendship. Friendship is the keynote of China's policy toward Europe, and cooperation is its overall goal. Second, promote greater coordination and efficiency. China-CEEC cooperation, as part of China-EU cooperation, follows market rules and EU standards, and is conducive to the realization of more balanced development in Europe. Third, uphold openness and win-win results. China will unswervingly open wider to the world, continue to import more competitive products from CEEC, and provide equal treatment to CEEC enterprises in China. Fourth, stay committed to practical cooperation that is beneficial to all. China is ready to introduce more new measures in such fields as import of agricultural and food products, e-commerce, finance, connectivity, and facilitation of cross-border travel.

The meeting was held via video link. The special representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for China-CEEC Cooperation Affairs, and national coordinators or representatives of the participating CEEC countries were present at the meeting.
