China and Macedonia to Continue Collaboration on Cultural Projects

Macedonian Minister of Culture, Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska met a Chinese delegation  led by Vicegoverner Hao Yuan of province Gansu on Tuesday. At the meeting, where Ambassador of PR China to Macedonia Wen Zhenshun took part , Kanceska-Milevska pointed the good relations between the two countries in the frames of the Program for collaboration in the sphere of culture signed between the Ministry of Culture of Macedonia and the Ministry of Culture of People's Republic of China.

 

 

 

The Culture Minister stressed that during the collaboration in all spheres of culture, they have realized several significant cultural events. She pointed the realization of "Days of Macedonian Culture in PR of China", the visit of the national theater of Bitola in Beijing with the play "Henry VI", the performances of the Chinese Youth National Orchestra of the Central Music Conservatory in Beijing, as well as several performances of Macedonian and Chinese artists.

In terms of publication, Kanceska-Milevska pointed the collaboration through releasing anthologies of Macedonian literature translated into 6 languages, one of which Chinese. Deputy governer Hao Juan said that the goal of the visit is to review other possibilities for collaboration in terms of culture and education.

Another topic at the meeting was the cultural Expo "Silk Road" which is to be held in September this year, in Dunhuang, Gansu province. Its goal is to improve the culture collaboration between the countries of Southeast Europe and China. The discussion topic at the Expo will be "Heritage of the silk road, promotion of cultural exchange and mutual learning", and there will also be an exhibition of a number of artifacts of the countries-participants.

Mr. Hao Juan sent an invitation to the Minister of Culture for participation at the Silk Road Expo.
