President Ivanov met Ambassador Wen Zhenshun

The president of the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Gjorge Ivanov  met Ambassador Wen Zhenshun at the Cabinet of President on November 20, 2014. Mr. Darko Kostadinovski, president's counselor for foreign affairs, was also presented.

Ambassador Wen expressed his appreciation to the President Ivanov for meeting him and listening to his introduction about the development of bilateral relations between China and Macedonia. "The bilateral relations between the two countries have maintained good momentum of development this year, while in the meantime the friendly exchanges and cooperation in various fields have been further enhanced, thanks to the personal attention and support from the president." stated by Ambassador Wen. Being assigned as Ambassador to Macedonia for half a year, he has been deeply impressed by the friendly feelings towards China from Macedonian politicians to ordinary people as well as objective and positive reports about China from the media. The good atmosphere is a solid foundation to continue deepening bilateral relations. This year, the two countries continued maintaining the momentum of high-level exchanges and strengthened the political mutual trust. Under the good demonstrative effect of the two highway projects, there are more Chinese enterprises coming to Macedonia for visit and research, in order to explore new cooperation opportunities. Bilateral economic and trade exchanges became more dynamic, among which the bilateral trade has been stabilized and recovered. Consisting of more than 100 musicians, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra performed at the Ohrid Summer Music Festival and got enthusiastic response from the Macedonian audience, which also promoted cultural exchanges between the two countries. Ambassador Wen also took this chance to outline the decision of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee on comprehensively advancing the ruling by law, China's economic development this year, as well as the strategic concept about "one belt and one way".

President Ivanov welcomed Ambassador Wen for visiting his Cabinet again, and agreed with the ambassador's positive comments on the bilateral relations. He said that the development of friendly and cooperative relations with China is an important diplomatic strategy of Macedonia. The Macedonian side appreciated the Chinese side to consider Macedonia as a partner on equal level. Macedonia welcomes and is grateful to China's extensive cooperation with Macedonia in infrastructure construction, economy, culture, education, health and other fields, which play an important and positive role to promote economic and social development of Macedonia. Macedonia supports China's "one belt and one way" initiative, and will actively participate in the construction of new land-sea transport channel between China and Central and Eastern European countries. He himself along with his cabinet are willing to maintain close contact with the Chinese Embassy, in order to listen to the comments and suggestions from Chinese side on the development of bilateral relations, and to help solving possible problems that may occur in the future.
