Instructions for Legalization

    1.Documents issued by the government of North Macedonia and to be used in China mainland shall first be notarized and legalized by the competent authorities in North Macedonia, then legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, and then submitted to Chinese Embassy for legalization.

2.For documents issued by member countries of the Apostille Convention*, after getting Apostilles from the competent authorities, they can be used in Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR of China directly.

3.Required documents 

a) One duly completed and signed Application  Form (Website for downloading the applicaiton form:

b) The document to be legalized, both the original and a complete set of photocopy.

c) Original and copy of the applicant’s Passport or North Macedonia ID 

d) If the application is submitted by an agent, original and copy of the authorized agent’s Passport or North Macedonia ID is needed. As for documents of great importance, an authorization letter issued by the applicant is needed.

e) When applying for legalization for corporate documents, proof of identity of the legal representative of the company and the Passport or Macedonian ID of legal representative (original and copy) are required, 

f) Other supporting documents a consular officer may request

4. Types of service

Standard service:The document will be ready for collection on every Friday.

Express service:The document will be ready for collection within 2 working days.
