On 9 August 2016, Mr. Wang Yi, the Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China  has sent condolences to Mr. Nikola Poposki, Vice Prime  Minister and Foreign  Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, over the storm disaster in Skopje, expressing condolences and deep sympathy .

 Foreign  Minister Wang   Yi  said, "I would like to express the condolences to the  victims and sympathy to the disaster

 affected people. I believe the people of the Republic of Macedonia will overcome the disaster and rebuild their homeland soon".
