Culture Ministers Discuss Ways to Promote Macedonian Culture in China

Macedonian Minister Elizabeta Kanceska­-Milevska met her Chinese counterpart Luo Shugang on Saturday in Sofia as part of the forum on cultural cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries, hosted by the Bulgarian capital.

The ministers of culture of Macedonia and China have agreed to share as soon as possible a draft ­program of activities through which Macedonia's culture will be presented in China and Chinese art will be promoted to Macedonian audience.

The culture ministers voiced willingness to further strengthen cultural ties between the countries, which are already considered excellent, the Ministry of Culture has said.

Chinese Minister Luo Shugang said he was open and willing to help heighten the promotion of Macedonia's culture in his country by bringing projects and artists to notable cultural events in China and by organizing visits by Macedonian experts at the Forum of Creative Industries within the 2017 Conference of Intangible Cultural Heritage in China.

At the meeting, the ministers underscored the significance of the China- ­CSEE cultural forum for contributing to boosting cooperation between the countries through myriad of activities in the coming period, including exchange of managers of cultural institutions, musicians and composers, artists and dancers, etc.

Collocutors also discussed the idea of setting up a center of cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries to coordinate all the activities intended to enhance the relation between these countries.
