Ten students from five universities received scholarships from the Macedonian branch of the major Chinese IT corporation Huawei.

President Gjorge Ivanov, who awarded on Monday  the scholarships to the students, said that the "seeds for the future program" is another example of the excellent cooperation between Macedonia and China.

The information technology students will visit China and will be able to learn from its experience in IT development.

"I'm truly happy that you used the opportunity offered by our partners in Huawei Macedonia, which will allow you to broaden your knowledge in the field of information technologies. This experience is crucial to compete in the modern world", President Ivanov said, adding that Huawei was also a major sponsor of the School for Young Leaders, held in Ohrid each summer.

The program, initiated in 2008, allows Huawei to share its IT experience across the world.

"Over 1,000 students from across the world have visited or studied in the Huawei headquarters and some of them have joined the corporation. Huawei has deep roots in Macedonia and is a company that cares for its share of social responsibility. Huawei is the sponsor of the International regulatory conference in Macedonia, and of the Macedonian basketball Super Cup foundation", Huawei Macedonia manager Li  Han said at the awarding ceremony.
