PM Gruevski met with China Pacific Construction Group Founder Yan Jiehe

Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski held Monday a meeting with Yan Jiehe, Founder of the  Pacific  Construction Group from China.
 

Yan Jiehe is at the helm of China's leading construction company, Pacific Construction Group, which according to Forbes magazine is one of the 500 largest global companies assuming the 166th spot on this list with an annual turnover of billions.

At the meeting, Yan Jiehe showed interest for the investment conditions and benefits offered by the Macedonian government, particularly in connection to construction and infrastructural projects, the government's PR sector said in a press release.

 Prime Minister Gruevski informed his guest about the progress made in building a successful business climate and the benefits made available to private investors.

Macedonia, is a country that offers the lowest costs for doing business in Europe, has the lowest tax package, quality and competitive workforce while implementing a range of reforms and creating a favorable business climate, said Gruevski.

Prime Minister Gruevski underscored that the country had been investing in open free economic zones, where investors in the first 10 years are exempted from paying profit and personal tax as considerable progress has been also made in relation to reducing or simplifying thousands of procedures. Also, in an effort to overcome the handicap of being a small market, Macedonia has signed free trade deals with all European countries allowing the companies that will invest in Macedonia to manufacture and export goods to 660 million consumers, he added.

The Chinese businessman praised the government for its efforts to attract investments, which are an important segment in economic development and trade exchange, pointing out that Macedonia had made a significant breakthrough. He voiced optimism towards resuming communication with Macedonia's government in a bid to examine opportunities for cooperation in several projects and spheres, stated the press release.
