Macedonia: Foreign Trade Amount to USD 7. 085 Billion in the First Six Months of 2014

 The trade exchange between Macedonia and foreign countries in the period from January to July this year   was USD 7. 085. 005, 000.

The total value of the Macedonian export of goods in the period was USD 2. 834. 158, 000, while the import stood at USD 4. 250. 247, 000.

The coverage of the import with the export is 66. 7%. The trade deficit, in the first six months of the year, is USD 1. 416. 089, 000, the State Statistical Office said.

The trade exchange according to products shows that the export mainly consisted of the share of catalysts with precious metals and their compounds, ferronickel, sets of ignition conductors for vehicles, planes of ships, products of iron and steel and clothing.

The import mainly consists of crude oil, platinum and unprocessed or powered alloys, electric energy and other metals belonging to the platinum group and their alloys.

In the period between January-July 2014, the biggest share in the export of goods belongs to the EU member states, with 78% and the Western Balkan countries with 13. 6%. The biggest share of the imported goods also belongs to the EU member states, where 64. 2% of the total goods were imported from.

According to the overall range of the foreign trade exchange, Macedonia trades the most with Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Italy. Those five countries participate with 52. 2% in the total foreign trade exchange.
