Gruevski: The construction of highways is strong impulse for the economy

Investment boom in road infrastructure. Started construction of two new highways continue construction of Demir Kapija – Smokvica, modernized local and regional roads. The total investment is heavy waving over one billion euro. Construction companies will have their hands full.

                

 

 The construction of highways, the three highways in Macedonia is strong impulse for the Macedonian economy. At this moment are being built three highways. One from Demir Kapija to Gevgelija, second from Shtip and Skopje and third from Kichevo to Ohrid, and simultaneous is built express route from Veles to Kadirfakovo i.e. is expanded from two to four lanes and thorough is reconstructed road Skopje-Veles. This is complex operation with investments of around 860 million euro, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski answering journalist question.

 

                

Gruevski stressed that in the construction of these highways currently are engaged about 760 workers, and the plan is soon to come to 2200 workers or as Prime Minister, noted 2200 families.

-Except that we are working on long-term problem solving the problem with highways, at one point while they are build it is solved the problem of employing with large number of families. So currently 760, but the rate is progressing and according to plan, it will reach 2200 workers. We are in strong investment activity that produces jobs, new highways, new express routes, reconstruction of much of the dilapidated roads, GDP growth, work on the construction industry and many other industries related to construction. We have strong activity, which affects economic growth and employment, said Gruevski.
