Chinese Violinist Ning Feng at Ohrid Summer Festival

 The Ohrid Summer festival resumes July 28. 2014 with concert of renowned Chinese violinist Ning Feng,   accompanied by Thomas Hoppe on piano.

Ning Feng studied at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and London's Royal Academy of Music. Performing regularly in his native country – China, but also all around the world, he has developed an international reputation as an artist of great lyricism and sensitivity in his performance.

Feng has performed with orchestras such as the Budapest Festival Orchestra, Russian State Symphony, Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg under the baton of renowned musicians such as Iván Fischer, Vladimir Jurowski and others. Besides his soloist activity, Ning Feng takes part in chamber ensembles. Namely, he is a member of the Dragon Quartet, founded in China in 2012, as well as a piano trio together with Igor Levit and Sebastian Kringer.

He has won numerous awards at international competitions around the world (First Prize at the International Michael Hill Violin Competition in New Zealand in 2005, First Prize at the International Paganini Competition in 2006 etc). Ning Feng plays a 1721 Stradivari violin.

Thomas Hoppe is a pianist associate with high reputation earned through performances in concert programs with renowned artists of the rank of Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, Antje Weithaas, Stefan Milenkovich, Alban Gerhardt, Frans Helmerson in concert halls like Carnegie Hall in New York City, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall London, Tsuda and Oji Hall Tokyo, the Berlin Philharmonic and others.
